Is it possible to wash a Roman blind

Every housewife asks herself this question when a designer offers her such a variant of window decoration. And the answer is clear - yes, you can do it, and it's not difficult. Care for Roman blinds is generally minimal, and for washing you need to release the fabric from the system.

To do this, you need:

  1. Disconnect the main canvas from the system. Release the canvas from the upper beam. Velcro fastens the curtains, so just take it off. The whole box of the system remains on the window, it does NOT need to be removed.
  2. Untie the cords and pull them out of the rings.
  3. The system of Roman blinds uses a special ribbon, which is sewn to the main canvas. This ribbon forms tunnels for rods. In the third step, remove all these rods.

Everything, the canvas, is ready for washing.

The fabric of Roman blinds is washed in the same way as ordinary tulle or curtains. The main thing is to maintain the temperature and spin mode. After all, some types of fabric can shrink, and some do not like high temperatures. The fabric is washed by hand or in modern machines on a delicate mode. It is better to use washing liquid or delicate powder. The use of aggressive chemical compounds is prohibited.

The canvas should be dried naturally in a suspended state. Iron at a minimum temperature.

In order to mount your beauty back, repeat the steps in reverse order.

  1. We wind the rods in the fabric tunnel.
  2. We fix a cloth on a box of system by an adhesive tape.
  3. Thread the cord into the rings and fasten at the same level.

Done. The curtain is washed. Beauty on the window.
