We choose linen in a babies bed

Why is it important to choose the right one

A baby crib is a place where a baby will spend a lot of time in the first year after birth. This will be his comfort zone. Its bastion is not only for a comfortable sleep, but also for the first attempts to learn about the world and development.

So, first, parents should take care of the safety of children's textiles. Quality bed linen, mattress, protective skirt, baby pillow. These must be anti-allergenic materials that are not able to irritate the baby's sensitive skin or harm them in any way.

Which fabric to choose

The ideal fabric for bed linen is cotton. You should not save and choose cheaper synthetic options. Today the best in terms of price - quality is calico, chenille, muslin. They are soft, pleasant to the touch, breathable, and cannot cause allergies or irritation to the baby's skin. Comfortable in winter and summer. Give a feeling of warmth when it's cold, remove excess heat outside during the summer heat.

Among cotton fabrics, these fabrics differ in price. But to buy more expensive cotton: ranfors, satin, percale for baby bedding - also does not make sense. Your baby will have a small crib up to three years old. During this time, calico, chenille, muslin will not lose its marketable appearance, will not wear out and will be quite suitable for your second child to sleep on. While satin and ranfors will be too smooth, and later, when trying to get up and take the first steps, holding on to the handrails of the bed, the child will slip on these fabrics. And the percale will rustle, which can interfere with the baby's sleep.

What to look for

Colors and prints

Pay attention to the painting. Do not abuse too bright prints and colors so that they do not irritate the baby. Choose calm colors: powder, light pink, light mint, beige, light blue. The pattern of prints must be uniform, clear, with strict adherence to reports. This is a sign of quality fabric.

Note the price

If you are told that the set is made of natural cotton, and at the same time it costs some too ridiculous money, then cotton will definitely not be there. Just imagine the whole technological cycle from growing raw materials to delivering them to Ukraine. Let's be realistic. Natural cotton fabric cannot be cheap. And now add to the cost of tailoring and associated costs.

Scent

Quality bed linen does not have the smell of paint or anything else aggressive-chemical. You can say, well, what should I open and sniff? Exactly! After all, it's about the health of your baby. Just imagine the damage that a dyed fabric can do to your baby's health! Your baby will inhale these vapors for a long time, the fabric will be in regular contact with the skin.

And quality again

Visual inspection. Bed linen is a non-exchangeable or non-refundable item. So in any case, you should make sure that you get what you plan. If you take the linen home and find a factory defect there, you will still be able to exchange it, but if the linen is simply sewn carelessly, it will be difficult for you to prove that it is a defect.

Therefore, we open the package and check everything carefully. Pay attention to the quality of stitching. A manufacturer who respects his customers, makes them smooth, carefully hides the ends in the sewing seam. The joints of the fabric must not contain any protruding threads. Additionally, pay attention to the uniformity of the prints and the uniformity of the canvas to the lumen. The sample report cannot be skewed.

Safety certificate

A reliable guarantee of the quality of children's textiles is the presence of the OekoTex certificate. This is a world-class certification. Its presence confirms that the product does not contain harmful substances to humans. In children's textiles, this must be the highest level I. Please note. The certificate is confirmed annually. Overdue is not valid.

Choose carefully, buy from proven manufacturers. Your baby is worth it.
